Atlas Tube was founded in Harrow, Ontario in 1984 by the late Harry Zekelman. After his passing in 1986 operations were taken over by his three sons.
With a dedication to lean manufacturing, employee empowerment and leading edge technology Atlas Tube has flourished in the HSS market.
With the installation of its first "quick change mill" in 1994 Atlas Tube has reinvented how its products are brought to market. Customers were able to buy from a two week cycle and keep inventories at minimum, order custom lengths from rollings all at no additional cost.
As business flourished Atlas expanded in 1997 with an operation in Plymouth, Michigan followed by a 1999 expansion of its Harrow facility with a 12 square "quick change" mill.
In 2005 Atlas Tube purchased the HSS business of Maverick Tube in Arkansas and also purchased the HSS business from Copperweld.
Today Atlas Tube has 5 State of the Art manufacturing Facilities throughout Canada and the United States producing in excess of 1.2 million tons of HSS annually.
