The Atlas Tube Centre is a 172,000 square foot recreational facility located in Lakeshore, Ontario, Canada. A short drive from the Atlas Tube mill in Harrow, Ontario, the Atlas Tube Centre boasts 594 tons of hollow structural sections of an assortment of sizes and shapes.
September 2014 saw the completion of phase 1 of the project which included the first of 3 ice pads, lobby, library and gymnasium. Phase 2 is currently underway and will host an aquatic complex with amenities designed for fitness, therapy and recreation. This project phase is scheduled for completion in summer of 2016.
Built to LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) silver standards, the Atlas Tube Centre was designed to the highest standards of sustainability. The aesthetically appealing design utilizing HSS combines form with function by maximizing the use of natural light and of course, recyclable materials from Atlas Tube.
Among other awards, the Atlas Tube Centre has been voted an Athletic Business Facility of Merit by Athletic Business Magazine.
